Why ‘Golden Leaf’?

Golden Leaf represents the changing of the seasons – a time to rest, deepen roots, and regenerate for what comes next. Growing up in the mountains of Colorado, fall has always reminded me of the value of slowing down, reflecting, and moving forward with greater clarity.

I founded Golden Leaf Consulting in the fall of 2024 after more than a decade working alongside mission-driven organizations around the world. I wanted to bring those experiences together in a consulting practice that helps organizations strengthen their capacity, use their resources well, and deepen their impact.

Meet Amy Kirk

Founder and Principal Consultant

For more than 15 years, I’ve worked alongside mission-driven organizations to design and strengthen programs, secure and manage institutional funding, and build the organizational capacity needed to turn resources into results.

My career actually has taken an unconventional path, starting in architectural design. Architecture taught me to start with people and context — to understand how individual pieces connect, how something will function in practice, and what it takes to move from a good idea to something that actually works.

That same thinking guided my work with organizations around the world as I shifted into international development. As a whole-systems practitioner, I look beyond a single challenge to understand how programs, people, funding, operations, and organizational capacity work together. My role isn’t to have all the answers or take over the work. It’s to bring strategy, structure, tools, and experience that help the people closest to the work lead it well.

I’ve had the privilege of living, working, and traveling in more than 40 countries and supporting organizations working across human rights, conservation, climate adaptation, governance, conflict resolution, gender equity, and other complex challenges. Those experiences have reinforced something I believe deeply: mission-driven organizations and the people behind them are essential to creating meaningful change.

Today, I get to dedicate my work to helping those organizations become stronger, secure and steward the resources they need, and create the impact they exist to make.

I look forward to learning more about you, your organization, and the impact you’re working to create.
